The Wright-Dunbar Discovery District, also known as the West 3rd Street Historic District, is a commercial district made up of 2 and 3 story brick buildings.

Wright Dunbar, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the revitalization of the historically-significant commercial corridor west of downtown Dayton, Ohio, known as the Wright-Dunbar Business District. The district is the center of the neighborhood where Wilbur and Orville Wright invented the airplane, and African-American poet Paul Laurence Dunbar began his career. The Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center, a 13,000 sq. ft. National Park site, stands in the heart of the Wright-Dunbar Discovery District and educates visitors from all over the globe on the lives of these great individuals

The vision of Wright Dunbar, Inc., is to create a vibrant, urban, walkable community of innovation, creativity and collaboration where diverse families, businesses, neighbors and visitors, live, work, recreate and learn together as a testimony to the historic legacy of the Wright brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Wright Dunbar, Inc. is the catalyst and facilitator for urban community and economic revitalization of the historic Wright-Dunbar Village and the West Third Street corridor maintaining a legacy of creativity, collaboration, and innovation of the Wright brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar.
